During the design approval process for developments and renovations, Carmel prioritizes community outreach and values the resulting feedback. We host focus groups to understand the priorities of community members. We are committed to giving back to the communities where we do business and have partnered with organizations to benefit youth, the arts and local businesses and other non-profit organizations. Our local teams engage with residents to measure and ensure satisfaction. At the corporate level, we support organizations that share our goal to improve the lives of individuals in our communities.

Resident Engagement
Carmel embraces our responsibility to encourage the health and well-being of our residents. We take a holistic approach to health and wellness that includes efforts to incorporate sustainable materials in our buildings and amenities to encourage active lifestyles.
To help improve resident health and well-being we choose low-VOC adhesives, paints and flooring whenever possible, selecting MERV-13 or other high-quality air filters and we often install low-E windows and solar shading to increase resident comfort and lower energy consumption. State-of-the-art fitness centers, pools and quiet coworking spaces, as well as lounges and other spaces foster active socialization and community-building. We incorporate beautiful outdoor spaces into our designs, built for social activities, outdoor exercise, shopping or simply relaxing for a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
Employee Engagement
Carmel’s greatest asset is our people. We conduct formal employee engagement surveys every two years as well as ad hoc point surveys to get a complete picture of our employees’ experiences. We also endeavor to create a positive environment by celebrating our employees’ successes and finding time to get together in more casual settings.
Carmel established a company roadmap to generate a representative set of company values which have been integrated into the fabric of our business through working groups and a Values Committee.
