Kathryn A. Hall

Co-Chair & Founder of Hall Capital Partners

Kathryn Hall is Founder and Co-Chair of Hall Capital Partners LLC, and she is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Review Committee. Before founding the firm in 1994, Ms. Hall was a General Partner of Laurel Arbitrage Partners, a risk arbitrage investment partnership that she founded in 1989. Prior to that, she was a General Partner of HFS Management Partners (predecessor to Farallon Capital Partners), HFS Partners I, and Hellman & Friedman. Ms. Hall began her career at Morgan Stanley where she worked in both the risk arbitrage and mergers and acquisitions departments. Currently, Ms. Hall serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Additionally, she serves on the Board of Trustees and the Investment Committee of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), the Board of Directors of the UCSF Foundation, and is Chair of the Investment Committee and a member of the Finance Committee of the Smithsonian Institution. Ms. Hall also serves on the Board of Directors of the McEvoy Group, the San Jose Earthquakes, Ariat International, and Cohn Robbins Holdings Corporation.

Ms. Hall served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Princeton University from 2011 to 2019, and as a trustee from 2001-2005 and 2006-2019. She also served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Princeton University Investment Company from 2008 to 2011 and as a director from 1998 to 2011. Additionally, Ms. Hall previously served as a member of the Federal Reserve Bank’s 12th District Economic Advisory Council. Ms. Hall has also served on the boards of a number of civic and educational organizations in the Bay Area throughout her career.

Ms. Hall graduated cum laude from Princeton University with an AB in economics and earned an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Michael Halper

Chief Executive Officer
ATC Partners, LLC

Mike Halper is Chief Executive Officer of ATC Partners, LLC, a real estate investment company that owns, renovates, and operates office and warehouse buildings in the Western United States. Since its founding in 1994, ATC Partners has purchased and renovated dozens of buildings to provide facilities to a wide array of office and industrial tenants. Mr. Halper is Vice Chair of the Executive Committee and serves on the Investment Committee and the Advisory Board for Carmel Partners. Prior to ATC Partners, he was a principal at Trammell Crow Company and responsible for activity in the San Mateo region.

Mr. Halper also served as Chair of the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area, a mentoring organization serving 1,500 children throughout the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area and as Chair of the Board of San Francisco Day School, a K-8 independent school located in San Francisco, CA.

Mr. Halper received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Master of Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Glenn A. Shannon

Glenn Shannon joined Shorenstein in 1994. After spending seven years heading the company’s New York office, he relocated to San Francisco to assume the role of President. He became Vice Chairman in 2016 and participates in the strategic direction of the company as a member of its Executive Committee and in the company’s investment activities as a member of its Investment Committee. As Vice Chairman, his responsibilities include overseeing the company’s Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Risk Management, Property Management and Construction Services, and Operations functions. Mr. Shannon also serves as President of DWS Management Company, LLC, a management company that supports and advises the Shorenstein family with respect to its overall business activities. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Carmel Partners.

Prior to joining Shorenstein, Mr. Shannon worked for 12 years at the law firm of Shearman & Sterling, LLP, in New York in its Real Estate Group, the last four years as a partner. At Shearman & Sterling, Mr. Shannon represented a wide range of domestic and international clients in acquisitions, sales, financings, joint ventures, and leasing transactions.

Mr. Shannon is a member of the Executive Committee of the Bay Area Council; is a Board Member of the Lincoln Center Real Estate and Construction Council and the Committee on Jobs; and is a member of The Real Estate Roundtable, Urban Land Institute, and Lambda Alpha International. Mr. Shannon is a Co-Chair of the Bay Area Council’s Workforce for the Future Committee and of the Real Estate Roundtable Political Action Committee (REALPAC). He also serves on the Advisory Board for Kinship Capital and the Real Assets Advisory Committee for Williams College.

Mr. Shannon is a Board Member of Aim High, a tuition-free summer school program for middle school students in underserved Bay Area communities, and of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), an organization that advocates for and supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders.

Mr. Shannon earned a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
